Wawa’s Wildwood Upgrade: Neon Signs, Gas Pumps, and a Modern Twist

A larger, retro-styled Wawa is coming to New Jersey Avenue in Wildwood, set to replace the nearby no-gas version. The store will be built on the site of the former Rite Aid.  Design highlights will include a central entrance, a distinctive V-shaped column, cantilevered roof canopy, and expansive windows. While there is no set opening date yet, the existing Rite Aid must be demolished before construction begins. With permitting and building timelines, the new Wildwood Wawa is likely to open in early 2026.

Lower Township Plans Six New Pickleball Courts Amid Growing Demand

Apologies, as the following story was not added to the headline/picture above in yesterday’s newsletter. Thanks to loyal readers lisadirisio7 and kmsitte for catching the error.

Lower Township is moving forward with plans to build six new pickleball courts near its government complex and senior center on Bayshore Road. The project reflects the growing interest in the sport among local residents and follows a recently completed court installation in Diamond Beach. With a total project cost of around $456,000, the Township Council approved $60,000 of the total for design.  Engineering work for the project is being led by Marc DeBlasio, while Mitch Plenn, the township’s superintendent of recreation, will oversee the project as manager.

Tara Kitchen Closes Wildwood Location After Nearly Four Years

Tara Kitchen has closed its Wildwood location after nearly four years, ending its run as a Moroccan culinary gem in the seaside town. The Wildwood location was part of a broader network of Tara Kitchen restaurants founded by Chef Aneesa Waheed. The chef and entrepreneur has gained national attention through appearances on Food Network shows such as Beat Bobby Flay and Guy’s Grocery Games. Wildwood was the fourth addition to the Tara Kitchen family, joining locations in Schenectady, Troy, and Guilderland, New York. The brand has even expanded internationally with a location in Hyderabad, India.

A) The Green Flash
B) Sunset Beach
C) Cape May Point
D) Cape May Cove
