After failing to obtain zoning approval, the developer behind a proposed doggie hotel in Ocean City has listed the building for sale at $879,900. The zoning board vote fell one short of approval, despite public debate and project revisions. Although City Council passed an ordinance earlier this year allowing dog hotels through the use variance process, the setback underscores the challenges of introducing new commercial uses in established neighborhoods. The building, one of the city’s largest warehouses, is now being marketed for its storage potential.
