NJ Launches $1M Crackdown on Distracted Driving This April

New Jersey is launching a $1 million campaign to crack down on distracted driving throughout April. The initiative, "Put the Phone Away or Pay," will involve heightened law enforcement activity in 19 counties and across major highways. As part of the grant distribution, several Cape May County municipalities also received funds to support local enforcement. Lower Township was awarded $3,500, Middle Township and Wildwood each received $4,200, and both North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest were granted $2,800. The initiative aims to pair stronger enforcement with ongoing public awareness efforts, encouraging drivers to stay focused and safe behind the wheel. With distracted driving contributing to nearly half of state crashes in 2023, the effort aims to improve road safety through fines, increased patrols, and public education.

With Easter Weeks Away, Jersey Shore Artist Surprises with Bunny Sand Art

Easter arrives late in 2025, falling on April 20, but Wildwood Crest is already celebrating. Local sand artist Mike, known for his intricate beach sculptures, recently crafted a detailed sand sculpture of the Easter Bunny holding an egg on the Wildwood Crest beach. The whimsical creation has quickly captured attention online, with photos and videos of the sculpture making waves across social media. The festive artwork brings early holiday cheer to the shore as families prepare for the unusually late holiday.
