  Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has featured several standout eateries in Cape May County. In Cape May, George’s Place Restaurant made the cut during one of Fieri’s Thanksgiving specials. Known for blending Greek influences with classic American flavors, the restaurant serves up standout dishes like Greek Leg of Lamb and Turkey Confit. Piccini Pizza in Ocean City, captured Fieri’s attention with its brick-oven pies. Quahog’s Seafood Shack in Stone Harbor, and Maui’s Dog House in Wildwood — each were praised for their unique flavors and local charm. 

Wildwood’s Surfside West to Reopen as Crest Wood Diner

 Surfside West, a longtime breakfast and lunch staple in Wildwood, is retiring under its current owners and reopening as Crest Wood Diner. The upcoming Crest Wood Diner aims to honor the spirit of Surfside West while also introducing an updated menu and new touches that reflect the vision of its incoming owners. Guests can expect the same commitment to hearty meals and friendly service, with a few modern updates to enhance the dining experience.

Big Lots Out, Job Lot In: Discount Retailer Expands in South Jersey

 The national closure of Big Lots stores has opened the door for the Rhode Island-based discount retailer, which already has five stores in New Jersey and over 150 in the Northeast. Ocean State Job Lot is expanding into South Jersey by taking over three former Big Lots locations including the location at 3845 Bayshore Road in the Bayshore Mall in North Cape May. While an official timeline for the openings hasn’t been announced, the company sees this as a key step in its broader growth strategy along the East Coast.
