Countdown to Spring: Warmer Days Are Almost Here in New Jersey

Spring is fast approaching, finally, with the season officially beginning at 5:01 a.m. on March 20, 2025. Online countdowns offer a way to track the arrival of warmer weather. The March Equinox, a brief time when both hemispheres experience nearly equal hours of daylight and darkness, inches closer. As New Jerseyans prepare to set their clocks ahead for daylight saving time, signs of spring’s arrival are just weeks away. The equinox signals the gradual return of longer days, milder temperatures, and the official start of spring activities. As nature begins to awaken, residents can look forward to blooming flowers, outdoor events, and the long-awaited shift away from winter’s chill.
Craft Beer Veterans Reunite to Launch Wander Back Beerworks

A trio of craft beer veterans are launching Vineland’s first brewery, Wander Back Beerworks, after years of working in the industry. Currently brewing in Egg Harbor Township, they plan to open a tasting room in the Landis Theater and Mori Building at 830 E. Landis Avenue. The brewery focuses on traditional brewing techniques, local ingredients, and a nostalgic brand identity. Their beer is already available in South Jersey liquor stores, and they anticipate a strong community response when they officially open later this year.
Ocean City’s Proposed Budget Raises Taxes, Highlights Community Investments

Mayor Jay Gillian presented his proposed 2025 budget during the State of the City address, outlining a 7% tax rate increase and an 8.5% rise in the tax levy. The $124.6 million plan includes higher spending on community services, infrastructure improvements, and employee salaries. The average tax bill is expected to rise by $242. Gillian defended the city's tax structure by highlighting investments in public safety, recreational facilities, and essential services. He also pointed to rising property values and Ocean City’s strong financial standing. A formal budget presentation is set for March 27, with an introduction vote scheduled for April 10.
