Cape May County Officials Investigate ‘Project X’ Party Rumors
Officials in Wildwood are cracking down on rumors of a pop-up party called "Project X" that has surfaced on social media. Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Wildwood Police Chief Joseph Murphy have issued a strong warning, stating that unauthorized gatherings will not be tolerated. Authorities are investigating those promoting the event and exploring legal action to stop it. Officials point to past incidents, including a 2022 pop-up rally that resulted in two deaths, as reasons for their strict stance. Wildwood’s juvenile curfew will also be strictly enforced.
Five Arrested in Unprovoked Attack on Off-Duty Officer in Wildwood

Five men have been arrested for allegedly attacking an off-duty Stone Harbor police officer on the Wildwood boardwalk on March 12. The officer suffered serious injuries, including a concussion and facial fractures. Authorities identified and apprehended the suspects, who traveled from various counties in New Jersey. Two face aggravated assault charges and remain in custody, while three others were released on summonses. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and encourage anyone with additional information to contact the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit or the Wildwood Police Department. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office website.
Atlantic City Beach Bar’s Pool Proposal Sparks Resident Backlash

The Chelsea Beach Bar in Atlantic City is seeking approval to add a 1,300-square-foot pool and a food truck to its property, but residents of the nearby Ocean Club Condominiums strongly oppose the plan. They argue that the additions will increase noise and disrupt their quiet community. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority is scheduled to review the proposal. Local officials, including Councilwoman Maria Lacca, have expressed concerns about the project’s potential impact on property values. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority heard five hours of testimony at a recent hearing. The board will compile a report and address the expansion again at the next monthly meeting.
