Eight Acres of Prime Cape May Shoreline Up for Sale

For those dreaming of owning a piece of the Jersey Shore, a rare opportunity has emerged in Cape May. An 8-acre beachfront property in Cape May is on the market for $1 million. Previously owned by the late Robert “Bob” Fite, the land sits near the Promenade just a few hundred feet from Convention Hall, and across from hotels. While the listing presents a rare chance to acquire beachfront property, potential buyers may face restrictions on development. Easement provisions in the deed could limit what can be built, and the city of Cape May holds the right of first refusal in the sale. Prospective owners are encouraged to review local land-use regulations before making any plans for the site. Gail Wilsey-Morrison at Long & Foster has this listing.
54 Million Dollar Jersey Shore Beach Project at Risk as Towns Disagree

The Five Mile Island beach replenishment project, a $54 million plan to combat severe coastal erosion in Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and Lower Township, is at risk of cancellation due to disagreements among local officials. The project, which would be the first federal beach replenishment for these towns since Superstorm Sandy, is facing delays as mayors struggle to reach a consensus on how it should proceed. Officials have until March 18 to agree on the project’s scope, or it could be canceled. The plan, led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is slated to start in 2026 if approved.
