Extras Still Needed for Spielberg Movie Being Filmed Here

Steven Spielberg’s upcoming UFO film, rumored to be titled The Dish, is currently filming in Buena Vista, Woodbine, and Upper Township, bringing Hollywood action to South Jersey. With 150 crew members staying in local shore towns, the production is boosting the local economy and they are still in need of extras. Filming moves to Middlesex County on March 27. The film, co-written by Spielberg and David Koepp, is set for release in May 2026. Those interested in being an extra should reach out to Grant Wilfey Casting.

$1.73B E-ZPass Deal Under Fire for Secretive Selection Process

New Jersey lawmakers are questioning a $1.73 billion E-ZPass contract after an investigation by journalist Jeff Pillets of The Jersey Vindicator revealed that the New Jersey Turnpike Authority granted the contract to TransCore LP, despite the company's bid being $250 million higher than the next-lowest qualified offer. Additionally, the report highlighted potential security concerns due to alleged ties between TransCore LP and the Chinese Communist Party. The report revealed the deal was awarded behind closed doors. Officials argue the company was selected for its experience, but critics point to a lack of transparency in the decision-making process.

Cape May County Democrats Decline to Endorse in Key 2024 Races

Cape May County Democrats have opted not to endorse candidates for governor or state legislature, resulting in an open primary. West Cape May Mayor Carol Sabo is running for State Assembly in the 1st District, facing fellow Democrats Carolyn Rush and Brandon Saffold. Rush and Saffold are aligned with gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop, while Sabo has yet to bracket with a candidate. The county party, led by NJEA’s former president Marie Blistan, has made similar non-endorsement decisions in past elections. Meanwhile, Cape May Republicans have endorsed Jack Ciatarelli for governor.
