Both detectives reported experiencing inappropriate and sexist remarks in the workplace, with Gannon stating she frequently endured "lewd conversations" among male colleagues. The lawsuit did not name current Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland or Chief Mike Emmer as defendants. The lawsuit was settled on March 4 for an undisclosed amount.

City inspections will ensure compliance with safety regulations and tenant capacity limits. Officials are urging property owners to secure proper licensing to avoid penalties as the city strengthens its oversight of the growing short-term rental market.
