Walgreens to Close Rio Grande Store Amid Nationwide Cutbacks

 Walgreens is closing its Rio Grande, NJ, store on March 24 as part of a nationwide plan to shut down 1,200 locations over three years. Customers will have their prescriptions transferred to a nearby Walgreens in North Cape May. The closures include Lincroft stores (March 17) and Asbury Park (March 27). Walgreens cited financial struggles, including rising operational costs and shrinking pharmacy margins, as key reasons for the shutdowns. The company has reported a $3 billion loss in the fourth quarter and is undergoing a major restructuring effort.

South Jersey Woman Accused of Killing Sister with Fatal Drug Injection

Sarah Errickson of Millville, NJ, has been charged with murdering her sister, Emily Cruddas, by injecting her with a fatal dose of heroin and fentanyl. Authorities believe the crime was financially motivated, linked to an inheritance dispute over their late mother’s home. Cruddas’ death was initially ruled a suicide, but her former fiancé later alleged that Errickson planned the killing. A subsequent investigation led to the case being reopened, ultimately resulting in Errickson’s arrest. Her alleged accomplice, Joseph Ragan, remains at large.
