According to authorities, the significant law enforcement presence in Wildwood was due to the New Jersey Sheriff’s Association’s executive board induction ceremony, which included representatives from various agencies. Cape May County Sheriff Robert Nolan was sworn in as the new president of the association during the event. ICE agents were in attendance to discuss their work and potential cooperation with New Jersey sheriffs. No arrests or deportations occurred, and normal activity was expected to resume.
