Cape May Honors Teen’s Legacy with Memorial Bike Ride and Prayers

A community bike ride and prayer service were held on January 18 to honor the life of 17-year-old Hayden Schofield, who died in a dirt bike accident on January 14 in Villas. About 60 people joined the memorial ride, visiting Hayden’s favorite spots and concluding at the site of the accident. The collision occurred when Hayden’s dirt bike struck a township trash truck making a turn. Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Hayden, described as kind, outgoing, and passionate about biking, is remembered by his family, friends, and community. A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $13,000 for funeral expenses, and services are scheduled for January 25 in North Cape May.
