Polar Bear Plunge in Wildwood Raises Funds for Special Olympics Athletes

For over 50 years, Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) has been offering life-changing opportunities through year-round sports training, competitions, leadership programs, and health screenings for thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities—all at no cost to participants. Key fundraising efforts make these programs possible, including the annual Polar Bear Plunge in Wildwood. SONJ harnesses the power of sports to help individuals with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths, skills, and confidence. Beyond the playing field, these athletes gain fulfillment and inspire their communities to embrace a broader view of human potential. Globally, Special Olympics engages 5.5 million athletes across various programs, making it the world’s largest sports organization for individuals with intellectual disabilities. One of the most exciting and impactful fundraising events for SONJ is the Polar Bear Plunge at Wildwood, presented by the Law Enforcement Torch Run. This event invites individuals, businesses, and organizations to brave the icy Atlantic waters in January to support Special Olympics athletes. Far more than just a winter dip, the Polar Bear Plunge directly supports SONJ’s mission by helping to fund its year-round free services, ensuring athletes can continue to benefit from these transformative opportunities. Alert: Widespread E-ZPass Scam Hits NJ and PA – How to Stay Safe

Drivers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania are being warned about a new E-ZPass scam involving fraudulent text messages claiming unpaid tolls. The messages link to a fake website that looks similar to official E-ZPass sites, aiming to steal personal information. Officials advise ignoring these messages, not clicking the links, and contacting E-ZPass customer service directly if there are any concerns. The fraudulent website is designed to appear legitimate, but it is not affiliated with any official E-ZPass authority. Authorities advise users to ignore any suspicious links and ensure they only visit trusted websites for account management:

Those who click on the bad link should immediately notify their bank and report the incident to authorities.
