Cape May County Zoo Mourns Loss of Beloved Red Panda, David Bowie

 David Bowie, a beloved red panda at the Cape May County Zoo, has died from mesenteric torsion, a nearly always fatal condition. The red panda was known for his love of Craisins and playful nature. Bowie was described as incredibly affectionate, enjoying time and attention from his keepers. "He will be deeply missed by our entire zoo family," the zoo said in a heartfelt statement. The zoo remains closed this week due to snow and ice, they look to reopen on Monday the 13th.

Wildwood Boardwalk to Grow as Sixth Phase Nears Completion

Wildwood’s boardwalk is set for expansion alongside an ongoing multi-phase reconstruction project. The ongoing Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Project focuses on dismantling the boardwalk down to its core, repairing the underlying concrete supports, and building a new upper deck with updated railings and modern lighting.  The reconstruction, currently in its sixth phase, involves structural repairs and updates from Spicer Avenue to Robert Avenue. City officials are optimistic about the current reconstruction timeline and its budget compliance. Meanwhile, the newly approved expansion will add another layer of development to enhance the popular seaside attraction further.
