Blevins fled to Mexico but later surrendered, admitting to involvement in a violent incident in Camden County. While no charges have been filed concerning the victim’s death, Blevins is accused of hindering apprehension. Authorities are also investigating a second man who discovered the body but withheld evidence. The FBI and U.S. Marshals are assisting in the case, though Blevins’ current custody status remains unclear.
Goodnight Irene’s Out, The Rook In: Philly-Style Eatery Coming to Wildwood
Goodnight Irene’s Brew Pub, a cherished Wildwood destination for 17 years, closed its doors for good in late 2024. The space will soon be reborn as The Rook Wildwood, operated by the team behind The Rook in Manayunk. Promising to bring a “Philly-inspired menu with a seafood shore twist” alongside signature cocktails and a lively atmosphere, The Rook Wildwood aims to blend the familiar flavors of Philadelphia with the coastal charm of South Jersey.. The grand opening is scheduled for spring 2025, ahead of the bustling summer tourist season.
Ocean City Native Injured in New Year’s Day Terror Attack, Faces Long Recovery
Ocean City Army veteran Adam Coste is recovering from serious injuries sustained in the New Orleans terrorist attack on New Year’s Day, which killed 14 people. Coste, now employed at the National World War II Museum, is undergoing extensive treatment and rehabilitation. A GoFundMe campaign for his recovery has raised over $90,000. The attack was carried out by an ISIS sympathizer, Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, who was killed by police. Local efforts to support Coste and his family are being coordinated by Ocean City’s VFW Post 6650.
