Fire Damages Multiple Units at Popular Cape May Campground
A fire at Sun Retreats Seashore campground in Erma, Cape May County, damaged at least three structures on January 5th. Thick black smoke and possible explosions were reported, though the cause remains unconfirmed. Authorities are expected to notify individual campsite owners about the incident soon. Further updates are anticipated as first responders continue to assess the situation and investigate the cause of the fire.
Snowstorm Set to Blanket South Jersey with Significant Accumulation
Snowfall is expected across New Jersey as a winter storm moves into the region late Sunday night. Governor Phil Murphy has declared a State of Emergency for seven southern counties including Cape May, where up to 8 inches of snow may fall. Officials have issued a Winter Weather Advisory and are requesting residents to clear vehicles from the streets to assist with snowplows. Snow accumulation is predicted mainly south of Interstate 195, with winds remaining below 20 mph throughout the storm
