Cape May Police and Firefighters Spread Holiday Joy Through Toy Drive
The Cape May Police Department and city firefighters teamed up to deliver toys and holiday cheer through the Sgt. William J. Alvarez Toy Drive. Thanks to the generosity of local families and businesses, the collected items were distributed to brighten the holiday season for those in need, reflecting the spirit of giving that defines the Cape May community. The Police Department expressed gratitude to the many supporters and loyal contributors who consistently make the toy drive a success, emphasizing the difference their efforts make for recipient families.
Holiday Spirit in Action: Knights of Columbus Support 300 People with Toys and Meals
Knights of Columbus Council 9113 of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Marmora held their annual Holiday Helping Hand program on December 21. The program provided families with an assortment of toys and essentials for festive meals. Each family received items for a complete Christmas breakfast and dinner, including turkey or chicken, stuffing, eggs, bacon, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and more. This year, the council successfully supported over 80 families, benefiting approximately 300 individuals.
Delaware Woman Crashes Car Into South Jersey Hospital ER
A woman crashed her car into the emergency room at Brigantine Hospital. When the officers arrived, they said they found that 38-year-old April Love, of New Castle, Delaware, had driven her car through the doors of the ambulance bay at the Emergency Department and drove about 60 feet down the hallway. Authorities have not yet determined whether the crash was intentional or the result of an accident. During the incident, a security officer was forced to jump out of the way, sustaining minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. The driver is being held on multiple charges as authorities investigate the incident.
