From New Year’s Day to Valentine’s: Timing Your Decoration Take-Down
The timing for taking down Christmas decorations varies widely, according to a recent report on the Today Show, experts suggesting three main approaches: New Year's Day, The Epiphany on January 6, or anytime through early February. Every family’s situation is unique. Whether it’s waiting for a loved one in the military to come home, navigating health challenges, or simply enjoying the festive spirit a little longer, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some argue that with the time and expense involved in setting up holiday displays, it’s only fair to enjoy them for as long as they bring joy. So, whether your decorations come down on January 2 or stay up until Valentine’s Day, your choice is perfectly valid—and supported by neighbors who appreciate the spirit of the season.
