Celebrate the Holidays with Jersey Shore Pops’ 'Celtic Christmas'
The Jersey Shore Pops will host "Celtic Christmas," a special concert featuring renowned Irish tenor David Shannon whose credits include The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, Valjean in Les Misérables, Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd, and dual roles in Jesus Christ Superstar , at the Middle Township PAC on Sunday, December 15, at 3:00 PM. Tickets are $40 for adults and $25 for children, with discounts available. The event is supported by funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cape May County Board of County Commissioners through the Division of Culture & Heritage. Mild Temperatures and Rain Expected by Monday
This weekend’s weather begins with cold, sunny conditions, transitioning to milder, wetter days. Friday and Saturday offer highs in the mid-30s with calm winds and partly cloudy skies at night. Sunday sees increasing clouds and a chance of light rain by evening as temperatures rise to the mid-40s. Rain becomes more likely on Monday, with highs near 59°F and continuing into Tuesday, reaching 60°F. Plan for warm layers early in the weekend and prepare for rain starting Sunday night.
Three Rabies Cases Reported in Cape May County; Clinics Scheduled
Cape May County has confirmed three rabies cases in 2023, prompting officials to remind residents to vaccinate pets and avoid contact with wild animals. “Keeping pets current on their rabies vaccine is a crucial step in protecting both animals and humans from rabies,” says Kevin Thomas, the county's health officer, “It creates a vital barrier between wildlife rabies and potential human exposure.” For additional information on the clinics and rabies prevention, contact the Cape May County Department of Health. Free rabies vaccination clinics will be offered throughout early 2025. Rabies, a fatal disease, can be prevented with timely medical intervention and responsible pet care.
