Residents Demand Transparency at Packed County Meeting
County residents packed a December 10 meeting to demand improved government transparency. They urged commissioners to adopt practices like videotaping meetings, posting resolutions online, releasing audio promptly, and holding meetings in the evening to accommodate working individuals. The county’s poor transparency score on a regional rating further fueled calls for change. Commissioners largely withheld responses, though Commissioner Director Leonard Desiderio, pledged to review the concerns and consider solutions in 2025.
Curtis Bashaw Reflects on Senate Campaign and Reaffirms Dedication to Cape May
Curtis Bashaw, fresh off a challenging Senate campaign, has returned to Cape May to refocus on family, community, and his role at Congress Hall. Drawing parallels between the campaign and a military deployment, Bashaw has embraced the slower pace and the timeless charm of Cape May. He is proud of his team’s ability to manage operations during his absence and plans to step into more varied roles within Cape Resorts. While he remains open to future political opportunities, Bashaw is currently committed to preserving the nostalgia and traditions of Cape May while celebrating the holidays with his community.
