Holiday Hopefuls Eye $514M Mega Millions Prize
The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $514 million, its highest since September, after no tickets matched all the numbers in Tuesday's drawing. A New Jersey player won $10,000, coming close to the jackpot. The next drawing is scheduled for Friday, with tickets available until 10:45 p.m. Odds of winning the grand prize are steep, but smaller prizes provide some consolation.
Cape May County Issues Code Blue Alert Amid Freezing Temperatures
Cape May County has issued a Code Blue advisory for Monday and Tuesday nights due to freezing temperatures. Code Blue alerts are activated to protect vulnerable individuals, including those experiencing homelessness, from the risks of cold-related exposure, which can lead to severe health issues or even death. These emergencies highlight the need for safe, warm shelter during extreme weather conditions. The advisory urges those without proper shelter to seek assistance. Individuals in need of temporary shelter are encouraged to contact their local municipality for access to designated warming centers.
