Cape May’s horse and carriage rides offer a magical way to experience the town’s festive Christmas charm. These 30-minute tours showcase Cape May’s beautiful holiday lights and decorations while providing cozy blankets and engaging stories from the driver. Perfect for families or romantic outings, rides are available throughout December, with reservations recommended. Prices start at $80 for four people, with smaller children often riding free.
From Dragons to Santas: The Art of Chocolate at Laura’s Fudge
Laura’s Fudge in Wildwood, led by Dave and Lori Roach, is a century-old institution known for its hand-crafted fudge and intricate chocolate creations. The shop carries on founder Laura Jackson’s legacy, blending traditional recipes with innovative designs. Custom chocolate molds, showcased online, attract a loyal customer base. Operating year-round, the shop produces up to 1,600 pounds of fudge weekly in summer and fulfills nationwide orders. Roach, a chocolatier and handyman, is dedicated to preserving the shop’s history and creating new traditions for generations of visitors.
Absecon Hit-and-Run Leaves Man Critical, Dog Dead; Suspect in Custody
A Mays Landing man has been arrested in Absecon following a hit-and-run accident that critically injured a 25-year-old man and killed his dog. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday at Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue. Police located the suspect’s vehicle after a search and arrested him during a traffic stop. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities continue to investigate and are requesting public assistance.
