🚨 Coastal Flood Advisory Issued for
Delaware and New Jersey Shorelines
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 10:00 AM on Wednesday for low-lying areas along the Delaware and New Jersey coasts, with potential inundation up to half a foot above ground level. A Coastal Flood Watch will then follow, extending from late Wednesday night through Friday morning, bringing an expected rise in water levels up to one to two feet in vulnerable shoreline areas.
Areas Impacted:
Delaware: Inland Sussex, Delaware Beaches
New Jersey: Cape May, Atlantic Coastal Cape May
Advisory Periods:
Coastal Flood Advisory: 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM Wednesday
Coastal Flood Watch: Late Wednesday night through Friday morning
Expected Impacts:
Rising waters are likely to cause extensive flooding on roadways, bayside areas, and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads could become impassable, and some structures in flood-prone areas may incur damage. Travelers should allow for extra time, adhere to road closures, avoid driving around barricades, and never attempt to drive through water of unknown depth.
Instructions for Residents:
Residents in flood-prone areas should take immediate precautions to protect their property and stay updated on changing conditions. In an emergency, dial 9-1-1; for non-urgent inquiries, contact the Wildwood Crest Police Department at 609-522-2456.

Family Promise Launches Business Challenge
to Aid Homeless Families
Family Promise of Cape May County is calling on local business leaders to join its Year-End Business Challenge, a fundraising effort dedicated to supporting working homeless families with children. This challenge was recently jump-started with a generous $5,000 donation from The Washington Inn and the Craig family. The organization invites other businesses in the area to match this donation, which will go directly toward essential programs offering homeless prevention assistance, temporary shelter, meals, and comprehensive support services.
Participating in the Year-End Business Challenge provides multiple benefits for donors:
Community Impact: Contributions directly fund Family Promise’s mission to help families in need attain sustainable independence.
Tax Deduction: As a registered 501(c)(3), donations to Family Promise are tax-deductible, potentially reducing tax liability for participating businesses.
Enhanced Public Image: Donors of $5,000 or more will be recognized as community partners on Family Promise’s social media, website, and in local press releases, which can help businesses boost customer loyalty through positive community engagement.
With a mission to provide hope and essential resources for vulnerable families, Family Promise relies on community-minded businesses to support its efforts. Contributions may be made by check or online, and donations are accompanied by a tax receipt.
For more information, visit FamilyPromiseCMC.org or call Executive Director Yvonne Sullivan at (609) 846-7862.
