Why You Should Never Eat Your Carved Pumpkins After Halloween
After Halloween, it’s important to dispose of carved pumpkins rather than attempt to eat them. Carved pumpkins are prone to harboring bacteria and pathogens, making them unsafe to consume due to their low-acid composition and unsanitary handling during the carving process. So, while it's tempting to think that carved pumpkins might be repurposed in recipes, it’s better to enjoy their decorative presence and then discard them responsibly. Roasting pumpkin seeds, however, remains a safe and tasty option, provided the seeds are collected before the pumpkin begins to spoil.
