New Jersey Senate Debate: Candidates Bashaw, Kim Spar on Key Issues

In their first debate, U.S. Senate candidates Curtis Bashaw and Rep. Andy Kim clashed over abortion rights, immigration, and economic policy. Bashaw emphasized his pro-choice stance and support for border security, while Kim questioned his consistency on abortion and advocated for immigration reform. Both candidates agreed on universal background checks for gun ownership and healthcare reforms, but differed on foreign policy and economic approaches.

Enjoy a Delicious Lunch and Support Local Cancer Patients at Anglesea Pub

Survivors of Cancer Inc. is hosting a fundraiser luncheon at Anglesea Pub in North Wildwood to support local cancer patients. The event runs over three weeks, offering a $16 lunch menu with proceeds benefiting Cape May County cancer patients. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, with all proceeds going to S.O.C.s, which has been dedicated to raising funds to help cancer patients in Cape May County for over 23 years. The organization donates all funds to individuals undergoing treatment, ensuring that local patients receive the support they need. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling Linda at 215-990-3822 or at the door on the day of the event.

Mega Millions Hikes Ticket Price to $5 as Part of Game Overhaul for 2024

Mega Millions ticket prices will rise from $2 to $5 in April 2024, along with changes aimed at improving odds and prize sizes. Players will no longer win break-even prizes, and each ticket will include a multiplier for second-tier winnings. The lottery's goal is to boost revenue and appeal to more players as interest in smaller jackpots wanes. Despite the higher ticket price, Powerball, another major multi-state lottery, has no plans to increase the cost of its $2 tickets.

Mets Top Phillies 7-2 in Game 3, Move Closer to NLCS Berth

The Mets beat the Phillies 7-2 in Game 3 of the NLDS, led by homers from Pete Alonso and Jesse Winker, as well as a strong outing from Sean Manaea. As the series shifts to Game 4, the Mets will look to clinch the series at Citi Field for the first time since its opening in 2009. Philadelphia's All-Star pitcher Ranger Suárez will face New York's Jose Quintana as the Phillies attempt to stave off elimination.
