Jeep Invasion and OCNJ Half Marathon to Take Over Ocean City This Weekend
The Fall New Jersey Jeep Invasion will showcase about 400 Jeeps on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Saturday, Sept. 21, raising funds for local charities. Trophies will be awarded at 4 p.m. at the Music Pier. On Sunday, Sept. 22, the OCNJ Half Marathon, 10-mile run/walk, and 5K will take place, with online registration open until Sept. 18. Road closures, including the Ocean City-Longport Bridge, will occur during the event. For more information, visit the official race page at www.ocnj.us/race-events.
Fall Season Kicks Off Sunday with Shorter Days and Cooler Weather
Fall 2024 officially begins on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 8:43 a.m. Eastern time with the arrival of the autumn equinox, marking the transition from summer. On this day, daylight and darkness are nearly equal. Meteorologically, fall started on Sept. 1. As the days grow shorter, Daylight Saving Time will end on Nov. 3, with clocks falling back an hour. The winter season will begin on Dec. 1 for meteorologists, while astronomical winter starts on Dec. 21.

Phillies Even Series With Brewers
Bryce Harper's two-run homer in the sixth inning, along with strong pitching from Zack Wheeler, led the Phillies to a 5-1 victory over the Brewers. Harper’s homer broke a 1-1 tie, while Wheeler allowed only one run over seven innings, striking out six. Nick Castellanos added a solo shot, and Trea Turner went 3 for 5 as the Phillies reduced their magic number to clinch the NL East to four. The Brewers' magic number to clinch the NL Central dropped to one after the Cubs' loss.
