Two large animals, a Scottish Highland cow named Rosie and another cow, Nelson, went missing in Egg Harbor Township during a recent storm. They were last seen near Pine Avenue and Asbury Road. The local community, including volunteers ready to assist in a search, is concerned they may be disoriented. If seen, locals are urged to contact authorities or Jessica at 609-464-0063. Now, we don’t expect to see them as far south as Cape May but you never know, remember they may be disoriented! Let’s keep a lookout.

Governor Murphy's Energy Policies Under Fire Amidst Rising Utility Rates

The story that, thankfully, won’t go away. After a surge in home energy bills that left many New Jersey residents with costs that have doubled, or more, there have been widespread calls for hearings to hold the state utility commission, the governor and supporters of green energy accountable. State Sen. Mike Testa, R-Vineland, echoed those calls and said on Wednesday that much of the blame goes to Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy’s "Energy Master Plan," launched in 2020. "New Jersey is already one of the most unaffordable states in the United States of America. Now people are being hit with energy bills that are essentially doubled. And look, I get it that it was a hot July, but it wasn't that hot that your energy bills should have doubled." Amidst record-high temperatures and increased energy usage, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) cites rising generation costs as a factor, while suggesting residents contact their utility providers to investigate unusual increases. The situation has sparked broader debates about the state's energy policy, affordability, and regulatory oversight.

Woman Hospitalized After Being Struck by Police Vehicle on Wildwood Beach

A woman was hospitalized after being struck by a Wildwood police vehicle while sunbathing on the beach. Witnesses at Rio Grande Ave beach reported the incident at 3:30 p.m., with bystanders attempting to lift the vehicle to free her. "Everybody was gathering around screaming, yelling at the person in the truck, 'Stop! There's somebody under your truck! You hit somebody!'" said Rose Simone of Chalfont, Pa.  The injured woman suffered multiple broken ribs, fractured vertebrae, and a lung injury but is expected to survive. The investigation is ongoing, Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano has described the event as an unfortunate accident.

Phillies Overcome Early Deficit to Clinch Victory Over Braves

In a stunning comeback, the Philadelphia Phillies reversed a four-run deficit to defeat the Atlanta Braves 5-4, launching a critical four-game series. Nick Castellanos played hero again with a decisive two-run homer in the seventh inning. Brandon Marsh ignited the team's rally with a pivotal three-run homer, overcoming the team's initial sluggish performance. The victory strengthens the Phillies' lead in the NL East, setting a positive tone for the remainder of the series. The Phils are 79-55 with 28 games to go. The Braves are 73-61. Ranger Suarez, Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola are in line to start the next three nights opposite Reynaldo Lopez, lefty Max Fried and Spencer Schwellenbach.
