Cape May Crowned New Jersey's Top Beach for Its Historic Charm and Scenic Beauty
We never tire of posts like this. The Jersey Shore is celebrated not just as a beach spot but as a distinctive lifestyle. Each boardwalk buzzes with energy, offering amusement rides, unique shops, and tasty treats, creating a nostalgic yet novel experience. The beaches, like Ocean City and Wildwood, each possess unique vibes, from family-friendly to vibrant nightlife. Cape May, particularly, stands out as New Jersey's top-rated beach according to Trip Advisor, beloved for its Victorian architecture, scenic beaches, and luxurious accommodations, making it ideal for various getaways.
"That Farm Market" Opens, Celebrates Local Goods in Cape May
"That Farm Market" is making its mark in Cape May Courthouse, since its grand opening in May. Founded over shared drinks and a serendipitous offer to purchase a local family's property, this market sets itself apart with its dedication to local sourcing. It offers the freshest produce, including organic options, alongside curated specialties from Hammonton's Bagliani's Market. The market also features small gifts, local honey, and freshly baked local bread. It's a place designed for community interaction, truly embracing the spirit of local enterprise.
Wildwood Stores Fined $4,500 Each for Flavored Vape Sales
Nineteen stores in New Jersey, including 12 in Wildwood, have been fined $4,500 each for illegally selling flavored vaping products, violating a state ban effective since 2020. The violations were uncovered through undercover purchases and observations by authorities. In response, local and state officials emphasized the importance of compliance to ensure a level playing field in the marketplace and protect public health, particularly among youth. The enforcement is part of broader efforts to address the risks associated with vaping. Dr. Bruce Waldholtz, an American Cancer Society board member, explained the risk. "We know in the short term, there's large levels of nicotine much higher in vaping for children than in cigarettes themselves. A large amount of nicotine is addictive and not good for developing brains. Long term, it's not good for your lungs, not good for endurance, and not good for health care risks down the road," said Dr. Waldholtz. Kids who use e-cigarettes are nearly four times more likely to try a traditional cigarette, researchers found. Health officials and the American Lung Association say as children are back in school and surrounded by their peers, it's important for you to discuss the risks.
Calls for Phillies to Reassess Rotation After Crushing 10-0 Loss
The Philadelphia Phillies faced a disheartening defeat against the Houston Astros, losing 10-0 and ending their four-game winning streak. Astros rookie Spencer Arrighetti nearly achieved a no-hitter against the Phillies, who struggled significantly at bat. Phillies' pitcher Taijuan Walker also had a notably poor performance, allowing 13 hits without a single strikeout, contributing to one of the worst pitching records for the Phillies in recent years. This loss adds pressure on the team as they prepare for an important series against the Atlanta Braves.
