Cooper Health Plans $500M Upgrade and Expansion in AC and Cape May
Cooper University Health Care is making a significant $500 million investment in Atlantic and Cape May counties, New Jersey, to enhance healthcare access and services in the region. This initiative reflects the organization's commitment to providing world-class healthcare to local communities.
The investment plan includes several key projects:
Hospital Upgrades: Extensive renovations and expansions will be undertaken at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. These upgrades will involve the installation of new medical equipment and the introduction of advanced care technologies.
Cancer Care Enhancement: There will be a substantial investment in cancer care, focusing on increasing the number of physicians, support staff, and facilities. This initiative aims to deliver MD Anderson Cancer Center-level treatment to patients in Cape May and Atlantic counties.
Expansion of Specialty Care: New specialty care ambulatory offices will be established throughout the region, providing greater convenience for residents and improving access to specialized medical services.
Development of a Multi-Specialty Campus: As the patient base grows, Cooper plans to develop a large multi-specialty campus in the Shore Region, modeled after the recently opened Moorestown Campus. This campus will offer a range of medical services under one roof.
Additionally, Cooper University Health Care's merger with Cape Regional Health System has been successful, bringing a range of new services directly to Cape May. This merger is part of Cooper's broader strategy to enhance healthcare delivery and access in Southern New Jersey.
Castle Dracula Weekend: A Nostalgic Celebration in Wildwoods
The Inaugural Castle Dracula Weekend will be held on August 9 and 10 in Wildwoods, celebrating the legacy of the famed Castle Dracula. To preserve its legacy, attendees of Castle Dracula Weekend are encouraged to bring personal photos or videos of the castle to be scanned and added to an archive documenting the attraction's history. A Guide to the Cape May Zoo's Top Animal Attractions
The Cape May County Zoo opened in 1978 with a modest collection of animals, including an African lion, spider monkeys, barnyard animals, and local wildlife. During the early 1980s, the zoo began to expand its collection to include more exotic species such as black bears, bison, antelope, and various birds and primates. The Zoo is a free and family-friendly attraction, features a variety of ‘must-see’ animals, including wallabies, capybaras, Galapagos tortoises, giraffes, and lions. With a history of continuous growth and development since 1978, the zoo offers an enriching experience for all visitors..
Tommy Pham on Phillies' Radar as Trade Deadline Approaches
The Philadelphia Phillies, leading MLB with a 62-34 record, are looking to strengthen their outfield ahead of the trade deadline. They have shown interest in Chicago White Sox's Tommy Pham, a seasoned postseason performer. With a struggling center field and a focus on winning the World Series, the Phillies may move to acquire Pham, who is eager to join a contender.
