Cape May Introduces Digital Beach Tag Trial for Summer Convenience

Using my American Express creditcard with Apple Pay

Cape May is set to pilot digital beach tags this summer, alongside their traditional physical tags. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for visitors while ensuring revenue protection against illegal sharing. The trial will focus on a specific tag category, potentially the three-day tag, to assess the feasibility of digital tags. This move comes as Cape May, along with Sea Isle City, explores innovative approaches to beach tag sales, including credit card purchases through a smartphone app.

Cape May's Budget Strategy: No Tax Increase for 2024 Fiscal Year

Cape May City has proposed a 2024 budget that, if approved, will maintain the local tax rate for the fifth consecutive year. This decision comes amidst plans to manage a total budget of $39.9 million, which includes significant investments in capital projects and utilizes a portion of the city's surplus revenue. Notably, the budget aims to address various infrastructure improvements while ensuring financial stability without increasing the local tax burden on residents.

Cape May's Unique Fundraiser: Engrave Your Memories on Mall Bricks

The Washington Street Mall offers a unique opportunity to leave a personal mark in Cape May by engraving memories, shout-outs, or memorials on its bricks.

Options include custom text, icons, or logos, with proceeds supporting the Mall's preservation. Engravings are batch processed after every 200 orders, leading to variable waiting times. Upon completion, contributors are notified of their brick's placement, underscoring the program's popularity and the need for patience through the process.
