NASW Aviation Museum Soars with NJ STEM Collaboration of the Year Award

The Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum has been honored with the NJ STEM Month 2024 Collaboration of the Year award, a prestigious recognition from the New Jersey STEM Pathways Network. This award celebrates the museum's collaborative efforts, alongside the Federal Aviation Administration William J Hughes Technical Center Aviation STEM Program and Cape May Airport Operations, in providing exemplary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programming. Their joint endeavor, known as AvSTEM Day, offered Cape May County students an immersive experience into the world of aviation, combining the county's rich aviation heritage with the latest in aviation technology advancements.

Austin Myers, the Events & Communications Manager at the museum, expressed gratitude for the award, highlighting its significance in promoting STEM education and inspiring future innovators. The AvSTEM Day initiative not only focuses on the study of Aviation along with STEM fields but also emphasizes the collaborative spirit necessary for educational advancement.

In addition to its celebrated collaboration, the NASW Aviation Museum is set to expand its educational offerings by inaugurating a new exhibit space on the second floor of its hangar. This space will be dedicated to STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, aiming to provide interactive and engaging experiences that showcase the synergy between these disciplines. This initiative underscores the museum's commitment to fostering creativity and innovation among visitors of all ages.

Originally serving as a World War II dive-bomber training center, the museum is now a vibrant educational hub, open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. For further information about NASW and its initiatives, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the museum's website at www.usnasw.org, check out its social media pages, or contact the museum directly at (609) 886-8787.
