Cape May has implemented an ordinance to establish fees for the use of municipal EV charging stations, aiming to encourage efficient use and accessibility. The fee structure includes charges for both level 2 and level 3 chargers, with rates designed to incentivize timely charging and ensure availability for all users. The ordinance also addresses the misuse of charging station spaces, emphasizing the city's commitment to supporting the transition to electric vehicles.

Under the new ordinance, users of level 2 charging stations will be charged $1.75 per hour for the first four hours of use, with the rate increasing to $3.50 per hour for any additional time. For those utilizing the faster level 3 chargers, the fee is set at $0.40 per kilowatt-hour, with an additional charge of $0.25 per minute kicking in after the first hour. It's important to note that these charges are in addition to any applicable parking meter fees and may be adjusted in the future by the City Council through resolution.

Flyers Overcome Sharks in Tight Contest, Tippett Scores Decisive Goal

In a thrilling face-off in Philadelphia, the Flyers managed to secure a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks, thanks to a crucial go-ahead goal by Owen Tippett in the third period. The game was notably intense, with Morgan Frost contributing a goal and an assist, and Joel Farabee adding to the scoreboard as well. Despite the absence of head coach John Tortorella due to suspension, the team showcased strong play, with significant contributions from Cam York and Travis Konecny, who each tallied two assists. This win nudges the Flyers further up the standings in the Metropolitan Division, emphasizing the critical nature of every game as noted by Frost.

On the opposing side, the Sharks, facing a challenging season with 10 losses out of their last 11 games, saw Filip Zadina scoring both goals for the team, both assisted by Luke Kunin. Despite a commendable effort from goalie Magnus Chrona with 39 saves, San Jose's coach, David Quinn, expressed dissatisfaction with the team's pace and cohesion during the game.

Tippett's game-winning goal came from an expertly threaded pass by Konecny, marking a pivotal moment and showcasing the Flyers' offensive capabilities. The Flyers also benefited from solid goaltending by Sam Ersson, who made critical saves including a game-tying stop just moments before Tippett's decisive goal.

This match also highlighted the Flyers' adaptability without their head coach, Tortorella, who faced a suspension and fine for unprofessional conduct in a previous game. The team's resilience and strategic gameplay shone through under the guidance of assistant coaches Brad Shaw and Rocky Thompson.

The Flyers' journey continues as they gear up to host Toronto, while the Sharks aim to rebound in their upcoming game against Pittsburgh, marking the next challenges for both teams in their season trajectories.
