Cape May Airport Expands with $5.5 Million Multi-Tenant Facility
The Delaware River and Bay Authority has sanctioned a $5.5 million investment for a new 15,000-square-foot, multi-tenant light industrial building at Cape May Airport, aiming to start construction next month with a 2025 completion goal. This initiative, the third of its kind, aims to accommodate the growing demand for commercial space, bolstering the airport's economic impact. With design and construction helmed by C&S Companies and Arthur J. Ogren, Inc., the project reflects DRBA's ongoing commitment to enhancing the airport's infrastructure and supporting regional economic development.
Massive Heroin Bust in Cape May County Leads to Arrest of Rio Grande Resident
Kelvin Claudio, a 35-year-old from Rio Grande, was arrested on charges related to the possession and intention to distribute heroin, following a targeted operation in Middle Township. The arrest was part of an extensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, which also resulted in the seizure of 2,100 bags of heroin laced with dangerous chemicals and a sum of cash. Claudio now faces several charges, including possession with intent to distribute and money laundering, and is held pending trial. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of Cape May County's law enforcement to tackle the narcotics issue, with a call to the community for support in reporting criminal activities.
