Cape May Named One of America’s Most Charming Small Towns

Cape May, NJ, has been named the third most charming small town in the U.S. by InsureMyTrip.com, recognized for its Victorian architecture, scenic beaches, and thriving dining scene. With a high charm score of 7.5, Cape May stands out as a top destination, especially during summer and the holiday season, for its cozy, year-round events and beautiful landscapes. It was the only Mid-Atlantic town featured on the list, further enhancing its reputation as a beloved coastal retreat.

Pandemic Boom: Margate’s Home Prices Rise 298%, Ranking Third Nationally

Margate, NJ, has been named the third-hottest real estate market in the U.S. for luxury homes, with an average sale price of $2.089 million from June to August 2024. Home prices in Margate have increased by 298% since the pandemic, making it the fastest-growing housing market in the country over the past five years. The number of available homes has also significantly declined, underscoring the high demand for properties in the area. Other upscale South Jersey Shore towns, such as Avalon and Stone Harbor, did not meet the minimum luxury sales volume to make this quarter’s top markets list. Margate's rising popularity highlights the demand for exclusive, luxury living at the shore.

Survey Reveals Surprising Confidence: 11.4% of New Jersey Residents Think They Can Take Down a Bear

A survey conducted by Action Network found that 11.4% of New Jersey residents, particularly MMA fans, believe they could fight off a bear. The study also measured how New Jersey residents felt about fighting off other creatures. Half of those surveyed felt they could handle a cat, while nearly 27.3% believed they could fend off a dog. The numbers drop significantly when it comes to larger or more formidable animals: only 6.8% thought they could face a kangaroo or alligator, and just 4.5% felt they could take on a moose or manatee. The results highlight the bold, albeit unlikely, self-confidence of participants
