Cape May County Schools Cancel Classes Amid Area Safety Concerns

Dennis Township schools in Cape May County closed Tuesday due to an armed robbery in the area. District officials warned parents to keep children indoors as a safety precaution. State Police, responsible for patrolling the area. The closure affects the district's two schools serving kindergarten through eighth grade. The district had earlier advised students not to leave home, and school buses were not operating. Further information regarding the threat and response is still pending.

Ocean City Prepares for Exciting Airshow Weekend Following Atlantic City Cancellation

 Ocean City is set to dazzle with its exclusive airshow events on September 14-15, following the cancellation of the Atlantic City Airshow. The weekend kicks off with an airport festival featuring a diverse display of aircraft, from vintage to modern, alongside food trucks, vendors, and parachute jumps. Evening activities include a Parachute Pyrotechnic Show visible from the Boardwalk. Spectators look up to view some of the best stunt pilots and aerobatic champions in the world put on a breathtaking display of loops, rolls and dives to the excitement of the crowds. The main attraction, the Boardwalk Aerobatic Show, promises thrilling performances from top pilots and aerobatic acts, viewable from the beach and Boardwalk, offering a spectacular family experience.

Vintage Cars Return to Wildwood Beach for Race of the Gentlemen

 The Race of Gentlemen, a three-day festival in Wildwood, celebrates pre-1934 American hot rods and motorcycles as they race on the beach. The event returns this October after a hiatus, with founder Meldon Stultz emphasizing authenticity and kindness. The festival has gained international fame, drawing vintage vehicle enthusiasts from across the globe. Organizers are hopeful that the 2024 event, will draw around 20,000 visitors from across the globe, including Japan and Europe. 

Benches Clear After Nick Castellanos Hit by Pitch in Phillies' Win Over Rays

 Tensions rose during the Phillies' 9-4 win over the Rays when Tampa Bay pitcher Edwin Uceta hit Nick Castellanos with a pitch after allowing back-to-back hits to Trea Turner and Bryce Harper. Castellanos pointed at Uceta, causing benches to clear. Bryce Harper also confronted Uceta from second base. Although the situation quickly calmed, Uceta was ejected following a conference by the umpires. The incident occurred in the eighth inning, after Turner's second home run of the game extended the Phillies' lead. The Phillies have an 8-game NL lead over the Mets and Braves
