Giant Parachuting Joro Spiders Seen Near New Jersey, Experts Warn of Spread

Giant, "flying" Joro spiders have been spotted near New Jersey, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These brightly colored spiders, originally from Asia, are spreading across the U.S., likely by hitching rides on vehicles. Their legs can span up to 3-4 inches, but experts say they pose little threat to humans or pets due to their weak venom. Joro spiders eat various insects, including flies and spotted lanternflies. Their spread into New Jersey is considered inevitable by pest control experts.

New Jersey’s Ghost Tours Combine Thrills with Local History

The Moorestown Historical Society's annual ghost tour, held over three weekends in October, blends eerie tales with local history, offering visitors a mix of frights and fascinating facts about the town’s role in events like the Revolutionary War. Other notable ghost tours in Princeton and Asbury Park similarly combine historical elements with spine-tingling stories, each providing a unique take on haunted history in New Jersey.

Corbin City Woman Arrested for Threatening Upper Township Elementary

A Corbin City woman was arrested for making a shooting threat to Upper Township Elementary School, triggering a 90-minute shelter-in-place. Danielle Egan, 28, was charged with making a false public alarm after State Police traced the call to her residence. The investigation is ongoing, with no additional details released. The incident follows an unrelated shooting in Dennis Township that also led to a temporary school lockdown earlier in the month.

Philadelphia Phillies Dominate Mets to Lock Up Postseason Spot

The Philadelphia Phillies clinched their third consecutive playoff berth with a 12-2 win over the Mets, closing in on their first NL East title since 2011. The Phillies, led by Bryce Harper and a strong pitching staff, hold the best record in MLB and are aiming for their third World Series title. With one more win, they could secure a first-round playoff bye.
